About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Database Expert to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of our cloud database environment, including migration, management, optimization, and security. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Migration:
- Lead the migration of on-premise databases to AWS, including planning, execution, and optimization.
- Utilize tools and best practices to ensure smooth and efficient migration with minimal downtime.
- Management:
- Deploy, configure, and manage various cloud database services on AWS, including Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
- Develop and implement automated management procedures for database provisioning, patching, and backups.
- Optimization:
- Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization, including query tuning, schema normalization, and indexing strategies.
- Implement changes to improve query performance and overall database efficiency.
- Security:
- Implement and maintain strict security measures to protect sensitive data, including access control, encryption, and intrusion detection.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, application teams, and other IT professionals to ensure the successful integration of databases with applications.
- Provide technical guidance and support on database-related issues.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in database administration with a strong focus on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Proven experience with migrating on-premise databases to the cloud.
- Expertise in designing and implementing database security best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience with schema management and query optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of AWS database services, including RDS, Aurora, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Continuous learning mindset and desire to stay up-to-date with the latest cloud database technologies.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with other cloud platforms like Azure or GCP.
- Experience with database automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Certifications in AWS database services or relevant database technologies.
