Remote Test Lead Cyber Security Engineer SME III with Security ASRC Federal Netcentric Technology is seeking a highly skilled and detail–oriented remote Cybersecurity Test Lead to support testing services for cybersecurity tools and measures within the DMDC environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing the impact of security tools on the stability and operation of networks and computing systems, while minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth integration into the production environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct independent testing of cybersecurity tools and assess their impact on DHRA networks and systems to ensure secure and stable integration. Actively participate in reviewing product requirements, developing acceptance criteria to verify functionality, and alignment with organizational security standards. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for formal testing programs, including test plans, comprehensive reporting, documentation, and government approval processes. Perform testing on cybersecurity tool updates and modifications to verify compliance with defined requirements and maintain optimal system performance. Prepare in–depth analysis and documentation of test results, including findings and recommendations (Go/Go with conditions/No Go) for submission to stakeholders. Integrate testing provisions into project requirements, designs, and schedules, ensuring testing is aligned with overall project goals. Utilize automated testing tools to conduct robust analysis, documenting results and producing reports that capture all relevant data. Conduct trend analysis and maintain a data visualization portal for tracking testing results and performance, facilitating informed decision–making. Collaborate with Cybersecurity Service Delivery (CSD) to identify trends impacting service availability and submit business process improvement metrics to enhance service reliability. Oversee testing operations for cybersecurity tools and configurations, ensuring they meet required functionality and compliance standards. Work closely with Technical Services (TS) to align testing protocols and tools with established methodologies, ensuring consistency and reliability. Lead a team responsible for developing and executing test scripts, system integration, and tool evaluations, fostering efficient team coordination. Establish effective feedback mechanisms for system configuration and performance testing, promoting continuous improvement. Execute testing services independently of other organizational testing and validation activities, ensuring impartial results. Assess the deployment impact of cybersecurity tools on DHRA networks and computing environments, identifying any potential operational issues. Conduct verification activities using a variety of methods, including inspections, peer reviews, audits, walkthroughs, and simulations, to validate product performance. Establish a project management program to support tool upgrades and new deployments, encompassing planning, costing, and governance adherence per DHRA standards. Provide 24/7 rotational telephonic engineering support to troubleshoot network outages and ensure minimal downtime during testing phases. Manage a repository documenting testing activities, including rationale for changes, affected systems, and rollback plans if no test environment is available. Required Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent additional experience) Must have a current Active Secret Clearance 8+ years of experience in information technology 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity testing or related roles Experience with testing methodologies, automated tools, and security analysis Familiarity with testing in high–security environments and ensuring compliance with government cybersecurity standards Knowledge of cybersecurity tools (e.g. Trellix/ESS, Tanium, Microsoft Defender Endpoint, BeyondTrust) Key Skills: Proficiency in using automated testing tools and conducting independent testing Strong analytical and problem–solving skills to identify the impact of cybersecurity tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and trends Ability to work collaboratively with cross–functional teams and present technical results to non–technical stakeholders Strong project management capabilities to handle testing programs, schedules, and resource planning Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with Ansible or related automation tools for configuration management, scripting, and deployment Proficient in using Microsoft Project for scheduling, tracking progress, and managing project timelines Experience in developing comprehensive SOPs for cybersecurity testing processes Knowledge of CCB (Change Control Board) submission and governance processes
