TITLE: Handbag/ SLG Designer/ Developer REPORTS TO: Chief Product Officer
SALARY: Competitive
LOCATION: Flexible, NYC preferred

JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a Designer/ Developer who will oversee all aspects of product design and development, primarily handbags but inclusive of SLGs and any category expansion. Our Designer/ Developer will help to streamline all design aspects to ensure that the SENREVE brand is cohesive and in line with the current product quality. The Designer/ Developer will drive the design from conception through ideation through detailed design cards, updating through the entire process. You should be very detail oriented and organized. This position will report to the CPO. We are looking for someone based in NYC. This position is currently project-based/freelance but we hope to bring this person on full time after 5-6 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain all elements of a Design Card from concept sketches through development process: clean sketches, dimensions, & proportions, materials placement, alternate views, detail view, hardware and thread list
Review samples for corrections including aesthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality and workmanship.
Maintain established standards, details (including hardware) and integrity of the product. Provide any callouts while reviewing the current line to maintain consistency.
Create CADs for color options, color blocking
Identify, clearly define, and resolve technical issues and partner with PD team at factory to ensure comments are communicated
Provide technical insight into new silhouette development
Establish innovative branding elements with hardware/ design/ materials.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in technical design on handbags/leathergoods is a must.
Thorough understanding of the design & development process from inception through production; experience working with and in global factories.
Leathergoods product construction and engineering required; Advanced knowledge of industry construction standards and manufacturing, including materials (hardware, leather, fabric).
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; ability to CAD
Factory relationships are a plus.
Understanding of new material development.
