Senior Developer – Risk Technology – Java/Python

Role Overview:

A boutique investment bank is embarked on a strategic initiative to develop a new risk platform using modern technologies. The team is responsible for a global platform that supports the Risk Management team in monitoring and managing risk across the firm including both market and credit risk.

We are seeking a Senior Developer to join the Risk Technology team. In this role, you will be involved in key transformation projects, contributing to the creation of a modern, scalable risk management platform from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include the design, development, testing, and maintenance of systems for risk analytics, data modeling, reporting, and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance core components of the risk technology platform.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Risk Management and other teams across the firm to gather requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to design discussions and incident reviews by sharing best practices and innovative ideas with the broader Risk Technology team.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or similar, with a track record of building production-level applications.
• Significant prior experience working on risk platforms for market risk or credit risk.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale data modeling and processing, utilizing modern databases such as Oracle, Snowflake, and AWS RedShift.
• Experience building cloud-based applications using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Lambda.
• Solid understanding of modern software development tools such as Git, Bamboo, and Jira.
